Frequent flyers have named London Heathrow Airport as the worst in the world, a new survey has revealed.

The poll of Priority Pass members disclosed that 15 per cent of worldwide respondents named Heathrow as the “worst airport”, while with British travellers this figure increased to 30 per cent.

On the other end of the scale, Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok was named the world’s favourite airport, closely followed by Singapore Changi, Amsterdam Schiphol, and Dubai World Central.

Jonathan French, brand director of Priority Pass, believes these results reflect the “battered” reputation that the airport has suffered over the last year.

However, he did suggest that “Terminal 5 may be able to swing opinion back in the long-term”. The survey was conducted among Priority Pass members, who pay an annual fee for access to exclusive airport lounges around the globe”.
