A new 24-hour bus service is set to be launched, improving transport links for passengers travelling to London Heathrow from south-west London.

The 111 bus route from Kingston to Heathrow will have its service extended from December 1 to provide half hourly journeys throughout the night, seven days a week.

The announcement guarantees improved public transport links to the airport for people living in London suburbs such as Kingston, Hampton, Feltham and Hounslow.

London Buses, which will operate the 24-hour service, cited the news as proof of ever-improving transport provision for people looking to travel in and around the capital at night-time.

“The new 24 hour service on route 111 is another accessible transport connection for late-night travellers in the capital,” said John Barry, the company’s head of network development.

Heathrow is currently served by a variety of public transport options including the Heathrow Express train service, which connects the airport with London Paddington station, and the London Underground Piccadilly line, which offers visitors to all four of the airport’s terminals a direct link to central London.
