A new water filter by Sawyer promises to eliminate all the nasties that can cause tummy bugs on a holiday.
This filter uses technology derived from kidney dialysis and the hollow-fibre membranes, that are engineered to produce micropores in “Absolute” microns, makes it impossible for viruses and bacteria to pass through.
It filters water from “untrustworthy” sources, including hotel and apartment sink taps, removing viruses, bacteria and protozoa.
The lightweight water-treatment system includes a water filter, three-different-sized sturdy folding bags and a cleaning device. There’s a tap adaptor too (just 85 grammes) that can be screwed onto most water bottles if the bags aren’t to hand.
Philip Dean, director of Sawyer’s UK operations said: “When people are going on holiday they want to relax and not worry about finding safe water.
“Even bottled water abroad can make travellers ill and our water filter ensures that these concerns are taken away preventing the risk of illness from unsanitary water.”
