Passengers arriving at Gatwick airport will be able to find out the public transport options available to them when an Onward Travel Centre opens in the South Terminal on October 29.

The new facility, located in the arrivals hall, will bring together a wide selection of onward travel choices for passengers including Southern Trains, Gatwick Express, National Express Coaches, Checker Cars, Hotelink as well as a selection of other public transport operators.

The information service is being installed by airport operator BAA as part of its commitment to ensuring passengers travelling on from the airport use public transport for their surface journey.

Jo Astor, retail director of BAA Gatwick, said: “The centre will enable our passengers to select their onward travel choice simply, from the wide range on offer in one place. Our public transport links to Gatwick are already very good with, for example, around 950 train services a day, operated by six rail companies, serving the airport alone.”

The existing Hotelink, Southern Trains and National Express desks in the South Terminal will close once the new centre opens.
