If you’re fond of taking the odd snap or two when you’re in the city then this might be for you: The My View Of photography competition opened earlier this week.

Entrants are asked to submit their photos of London, Berlin and Amsterdam in five different categories: Colour (the city’s brightest hues), Love, A New Perspective (the city’s landmarks form a different angle), Room with a View (views from Park Plaza hotels) and Carrots Nightwalk (the atmosphere of the capital at night).

It’s free to enter, so it’s definitely worth the effort of digging out one or two of your best pics or bearing the categories in mind if and when you go around any of the three cities between now and the competition closing date on October 1.

An eye-research charity (Fight for Sight) and hotel chain (Park Plaza Hotels and Resorts) are jointly running the competition. The latter’s putting up some pretty cool prizes, especially when you think there’s no cost to enter.

The best pic in each category wins a stay at one of Park Plaza’s hotels in London, Berlin and Amsterdam – each winner gets to choose which city they want to visit. More specifically, winners will get a two-night stay for two in a penthouse suite, a £200 Park Plaza Spa voucher, a three-course dinner for two at a Park Plaza restaurant and an annual Photofusion membership.

The competition’s open to all amateur photographers aged 18 and over. As far as we can see those are the only requirements. Oh, and for obvious reasons they’re asking entrants to submit for high-res images.
