Those who leave it to the last minute to buy foreign currency can now enjoy the same exchange rates as they would get online.
A new voucher has been launched by the International Currency Exchange that will allow holidaymakers to get improved exchange rates at the airport.
One out of five people are planning to go on holiday this winter, with many heading to the slopes for a ski holiday or going in search of some winter sun.
And 25 per cent of those going on holiday will wait until they get to the airport to change their money into foreign currency, which can carry expensive charges.
But the International Currency Exchange (ICE) has launched an e-voucher which can be used at Heathrow airport.
The e-voucher will give holidaymakers a far better exchange rate when they change money into euros or dollars before they catch their flight.
The e-voucher will give customers an exchange rate of €1.14 to the pound and $1.52 to the pound.
“Savvy consumers are using vouchers on a regular basis, for everything from pizzas to pampering. Now ICE offers travellers the same great savings with the e-vouchers for the best deals on Euros and Dollars at Heathrow airport,” said Joanna Williams, Head of Marketing for ICE.
The e-voucher, which can currently only be used at Heathrow Airport, means that customers can buy €1,000 for £870.
Customers can also buy $1,000 Dollars for £655 with the voucher. This leads to a saving of almost £50 for travellers buying dollars, and a saving of £66 for people buying euros.
Ms Williams added: “At a time when holiday budgets are stretched to the limit, we’re helping travellers get more for their money.”
The vouchers can be downloaded at iceplc.com, and presented at the ICE counter at Heathrow Airport. Customers can either print out the voucher or download it to their smart phone.
