An aeroplane is probably the last place you’d expect to find love, but one airline is trying to change all that.
Low-cost airline Jet2.com is launching the world’s first speed dating flight this weekend, taking 100 singletons into the air to try and find some romance.
Taking off from Leeds Bradford Airport on Saturday, the 100 lucky winners of this exclusive trip will be flown to Paris, the City of Love (where else?) to be put through their dating paces.
All those on board the romantic flight are travelling free, having entered a competition. To earn a place they had to submit a photo of themselves and state why they deserved to be on the “love plane”.
Once the single guys and girls touch down in Paris they will be treated to a boat cruise down the River Seine.
But it’s not all wining and dining in luxury, the lucky hopefuls will have their chat up skills put to the test with a speed dating session as they cruise along the iconic Parisian waterway.
And in case any of them need a helping hand with their chat up lines and pulling technique, two stars of The Only Way is Essex will be on hand to impart their worldly wisdom.
On-again-off-again couple Mario Falcone and Lucy Mecklenburgh, who’ve had their fair share of ups and downs on the show, will be there to help the lucky 100 in any way they can.
“When we heard about Jet2.com’s special dating flights we jumped at the chance to get involved,” said Mario.
“What better setting is there potentially to meet the love of your life than in the ultimate city of romance! We can’t wait to jet off to Paris and help some of the nation’s singletons find their dream partner.”
