Situated on the northernmost tip of Fuerteventura, the resort of Corralejo is one of the most popular on the island. Once just a small fishing village, the centre of town retains much of its original charm. In recent years, however, the resort has spread significantly and the outlying areas are far less attractive. But the majority of sunlovers book flights to Corralejo for one main reason: its stunning beaches. There are a range of beaches easily accessible from the town, offering everything from sunbathing to watersports. The beaches are sheltered, and with such a large choice, holidaymakers can find a spot suited to most activities. The town beach is at the centre of the resort, flanked by an attractive promenade. This is the place to take a stroll, window shop, or stop for some lunch or supper on the waterfront. The harbour is also the place where ferries arrive from Lanzarote, full of daytrippers.

- Take a trip in a glass-bottomed boat. The sea round Corralejo is teeming with more than 600 varieties of fish including the brightly coloured red Parrot fish. Scuba diving, angling and snorkeling are very popular here
- Surfing and windsurfing are excellent because of the strong breeze, and the sea is beautifully warm when you fall in.
- Before your very eyes all kinds of magical creatures from dragons to camels appear in the sand. Once you have seen the work of the talented sculptors who work in sand, you don’t have to do anything more, and can go back to simply lying on the stuff.
