It seems that the summer is well and truly over, as the realities of autumn were thrust upon us in a hail of rain and wind.

The dodgy weather looks set to continue for the foreseeable future, so it’s time to dig out the coat and buy a new scarf.

For our favourite celebrities, of course, some glorious sunshine is only a private jet flight away. So where have the rich and famous been this week?

Singapore Grand Prix

Every Grand Prix is guaranteed to be a pretty glamorous event; such is the nature of this high octane, big cash sport.

Yet the Singapore Grand Prix, which is held throughout the night, has a special feel to it. It’s only been on the Formula One calendar for a few years, yet it is already a favourite with fans and drivers alike.

Fans were treated to more than just a great race though, as rockers Maroon 5 took the stage on Saturday evening and Katy Perry entertained the crowds after the main race on Sunday.

The Emmys

For stars of the silver screen there was only one event to be at this weekend – the 64th Primetime Emmys. It was a typically star-studded night, with some of the biggest names in Hollywood making an appearance.

We Brits had hoped to clean up at the prestigious TV awards, having dominated the nominations with the likes of Downton Abbey and Sherlock.

But it wasn’t to be – Sherlock failed to scoop any awards and Downton Abbey only managed one win.

It wasn’t all bad news for the British invasion, however, as national treasure Maggie Smith picked up the Best Supporting Actress gong, while Damian Lewis grabbed Best Actor for his role in the excellent Homeland (it’s back soon! See our story about Homeland locations).

Oktoberfest

For people in a certain part of Germany, this time of year always means one thing – it’s time for Oktoberfest.

The annual celebration of all things beer kicked off at the weekend and has been a typically raucous affair so far.

Oktoberfest attracts beer lovers from around the world, and Boris Becker is no different. The former tennis ace was at the event with his wife, and was seen looking a little worse for wear as he swilled beer from a traditional tankard.

Have a read of our Top 10 Biergarten to keep the Oktoberfest party going year-round and see how Lufthansa got into the Oktoberfest spirit.
