Money protects celebs from all manner of embarrassing mishaps, whether it’s a credit-card rebuff at the tills or less-than-favourable coverage in the press.

The same rules apply when celebs take off on one of their many holidays. An entourage helps usher them through customs queues, their every whim is attended to on First-Class flights, and a cocktail awaits their arrival on the sun-soaked beaches of an exclusive resort.

While celebs and their team have done all they can to ensure that everything goes off without a hitch, there’s one thing they still have no control over – losing their luggage on a flight.

It seems that our very own British Airways is mentioned in these high profile-luggage losses. So which celebs have had to endure that most frustrating of travel problems?

Kim Kardashian

US reality TV star Kim Kardashian took to Twitter to vent her anger about BA losing items of her luggage as she flew from the UK to the US, following a promotion of her new fragrance on British shores.

She tweeted to her legions of fans: “Very disappointed in British Airways for opening my luggage & taking some special items of mine! Some things are sentimental & not replaceable.”

Given that Kim has around 14 million Twitter followers, it’s a little embarrassing for BA. The airline responded by saying it was “looking into the matter”.

Naomi Campbell

Feisty British supermodel Naomi Campbell was never one to mince her words, and used more than a few expletives when her bag was lost in a mix-up on a BA flight from Terminal 5.

Captain Miles Sutherland decided to appease the situation by approaching the model, only to be faced with a litany of foul language. The incident saw Campbell end up in court, and could have been sentenced to jail.

Alice Cooper

Back in 2010, it was rocker Alice Cooper’s turn to be the victim of baggage loss. The School’s Out singer was to due to perform a Hallowe’en show in London, but discovered his bags (and their unusual contents) had been lost.

Cooper was forced to disclose the contents of his snakeskin bags, which included fake blood, a collection of skulls and skeleton limbs, and a giant syringe.

Victoria Beckham

More than a decade ago, a fresh-faced Posh Spice was left flustered after losing three £2,000 Louis Vuitton suitcases.

The pricey bags contained the young star’s clothing, song lyrics and other personal items. BA was forced to compensate her to the tune of £100,000.
