Manchester Airport will benefit from additional flights to Munich later this year when Singapore Airlines boosts the frequency of its connection to the German city.

The Asian carrier will offer daily flights between Manchester and Munich from 1 September, adding two extra connections to the existing five-times weekly service.

Singapore Airlines launched the route on 28 March and has reportedly decided to boost frequencies in response to strong demand for cheap tickets on the route.

Goh Choon Phong, executive vice-president of marketing at the carrier, said that the prompt decision to add extra flights was a “testament to the popularity of the route”.

Commenting further on the expansion, he added: “We are pleased that our products have been so well received and we are confident that the additional flights will cater to the growing demand of our business and leisure customers travelling to and from both Munich and Manchester.”

Singapore Airlines also operates twice-daily Manchester flights to Frankfurt, as well as offering services from Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Aberdeen and London Heathrow.
