Technological innovations will make travel a far quicker and less stressful experience, according to technology expert Amadeus.

Amadeus, an IT provider to the travel and tourism industry, has released a report claiming that all travel will be paperless in just eight years.

The Chaos to Collaboration Report has highlighted several areas of travel that technology will improve for holidaymakers in the near future.

The report has made predictions for how we will travel in the future, with technology set to make it a far more stress-free experience.

The report states that technological innovations will make things like fingerprint boarding passes and eye-scanning passport control a reality.

“There are few things that can match the pleasure and anticipation that travel to either a new or favourite place offers us,” says Eberhard Haag, Amadeus’ Vice President, in the report.

“However, the onset of mass tourism has seen the pain of delays, lost luggage and seemingly ever-increasing queues confront many travellers. At Amadeus, we believe that technological innovation can be deployed to overcome these challenges.”

Amadeus claims that automated identity is the key to reducing long queues and delays at airports, with passengers being able to speed through customs with a quick scan of their retina.

And the slow manual check-ins will be a thing of the past, with passengers using their fingerprint as a boarding pass to speed up check-in on flights.

Amadeus has also predicted that our luggage will be electronically tagged, meaning we can track our bags as we travel.

But the technological travel experience will not end at airports, as Amadeus predicts that things like tour guides and travel books will also become paperless.

So when exploring a new city, holidaymakers will be able to use their smartphone to access information on everything from the cheapest hotels to the hidden places of interest.
