What is fashion to you?
Fashion to me is a state of mind. It’s a spirit, an extension of one’s self. Most of all, fashion is all about being comfortable in your own skin, translating self-esteem into a personal style.

How does Delhi inspire your style?
I was born and brought up in Ludhiana, a town in Punjab, India. We didn’t have access to the major brands and fashion streets of cities like Delhi and Mumbai. I used to visit Delhi once a year to have my fix of fashion. Then finally I had a chance to move to Delhi for my post graduation and, well, my style changed totally from girly to chic and smart. The city, with its mix of cultures from around India and fashion-savvy crowd, moulded me too into being a fashion freak. Delhi is a fashion hub for everyone. If you are a fan of Indian handicrafts, Dilli Haat is the place for you. If you want high-end labels at throwaway prices, Sarojini Nagar market is the must-visit place. And for the brand conscious? Vasant Kunj malls have the best brands from around the world.

What item do you always take with you on holidays?
Even though I love travelling, and exploring new markets and trends, I haven’t yet had a chance to visit the major fashion-hub cities. But I make sure to carry my camera and my floral sundress whenever I am on holiday.

Your fashion tip for holidays? What do you suggest our readers should take on their holidays to Delhi?
If you are visiting Delhi in your holidays don’t forget to carry light tees/cotton dresses/shorts and sunglasses as the scorching summer sun would surely make you sweat a lot. During winters, jackets and jeans are a must to protect you from the cold.
