VisitBritain has teamed up with American Express to entice a new range of visitors to Blighty’s fair shores.

In a bid to lure an extra four million travellers a year, the tourist organisation will launch a host of special offers and travel information for American Express users across the globe to make Britain the hot pick holiday pick.

The £100 million campaign, which promises to raise Britain’s profile as a travel destination and increase visitor spending by an eye-watering £2 billion, will be based around a website called “UK Inspiration”.

The site will offer a range of great discounts and deals on UK eateries and attractions, as well as blogs from travel, fashion and entertainment gurus offering insider tips to making the most of a British holiday.

Director of marketing at VisitBritain, Laurence Bresh, said, “This partnership gives us the opportunity to showcase Britain and to present ideas and offers which encourage potential visitors to travel now.”

Even if you live here, you may be able to pick up some useful info from the website, or send it to friends abroad considering a visit to old Blighty. Check it out at www.amexnetwork.co.uk.
