If you’re looking for some summer work with a difference you might want to get in touch with First Choice, which is currently recruiting for possibly the world’s best summer job.
The tour operator is offering one lucky Brit the chance to become a water slide tester at its SplashWorld resorts in Europe and around the world.
Tommy Lynch, the company’s previous resident tester, has decided to hang up his shorts after four years in the role, so First Choice is on the look-out for someone new.
The successful candidate will travel to the all-inclusive resorts throughout the summer to rate slides on their “adrenaline factor” and “biggest splash”.
But it’s not all fun and games (although that’s mainly what it is), the tester will also have to promote the parks and interact with First Choice customers via social media.
“This is an amazing job for one lucky person who’ll get to escape the 9-5 and instead spend their days rating slides and pools in the sun this summer,” said Luke Gaskins, First Choice Head of Holiday Innovation.
“The new Slide Tester will be a key part of the First Choice team responsible for ensuring that we give our SplashWorld customers the best All Inclusive water park experience we can.”
If you think you’ve got what it takes to go down a slide for money – the six-month contract pays £10,000 – you need to apply online by February 28.
Applicants are urged to submit a 30-second video, along with a written application, explaining why they are right for the job.
The top applicants will be whisked off to a water park in April to battle it out for the job in a series of exciting challenges.
The victor will then be given a six-month paid contract, which includes all overseas travel expenses and a free seven-night holiday for two at one of First Choice’s all-inclusive resorts at the end of the six months. Not bad, eh?
“We can’t wait to welcome our new team member so that they can get sliding and give our holidaymakers all the information they need to have the best holiday this summer,” added Mr Gaskins.
