Thomas Cook Holidays are to base an aircraft at Leeds Bradford International Airport, increasing the number of seats available to people wanting to escape to the sun next summer.

An A320 aircraft will be based at the airport and provide an extra ten thousand seats to 17 European holiday destinations including Spain, the Balearics, the Canaries, Greece, Malta, Portugal, Turkey and Cyprus.

James Burrows, aviation director at Thomas Cook said: “We recognise the potential for growth at Leeds Bradford Airport and by having a based aircraft we can meet the increased demand of the people in the Yorkshire region.”

The airport’s Sally Ramsey said Thomas Cook’s decision was a vote of confidence in Leeds Bradford International and that it looked forward to offering passengers increased availability when booking their holiday.
