Zacatecas is connected by motorway to most of the major cities nearby, so hiring a car is a great idea if you want to get around the city with independence and perhaps explore further afield too. Specialised tour buses are available to take you to important sites of interest, such as La Quemada. If you want to travel in a truly memorable way, though, why not take the Teleforico? This is a cable car strung between two mountain peaks and, in just 10 minutes, will take you over the whole Old Town.
Zacatecas is served by General Leobardo C. Ruiz International Airport (ZCL) is located a short drive from the town centre. Several of the larger hotels in Zacatecas operate shuttle services to and from the airport, so make sure to check with your hotel to see if you can take advantage of this. These shuttles are handy as they will be timed to coincide with the arrival times of your flight. Hire cars and taxis are also popular options for reaching Zacatecas after your flight arrives. For extra peace of mind, it is a good idea to agree on your taxi fare with your driver before you depart for the town centre.
