Winter in Vitoria, which lasts from June to September, has the most pleasant temperatures averaging at approximately 16°C. Many of the Vitoria festivals take place all year round, although the religious festivals are typically the most grand. Carnival in February, as well as Samba Schools and Champions’ Parade attract large crowds and street celebrations.
As with many places, December to January is the off season for air travel. Although these months are considered the summer time in Vitoria, flight prices will be at a yearly low, especially if booked well in advance. It may be possible to barter on the price of hotel rooms, as plenty will be empty.

Departure was late. Plane much too small for an 11 hour flight. One bathroom was out of order in a completely full flight.

Vitoria has a large transport infrastructure, which includes bus services, trains, and taxis. The BR-101 and BR-262 motorways connect Vitoria to the surrounding cities, as does the Vitoria-Minas Railway station.
Just 8.5 miles (14 km) from the city, Vitoria-Eurico de Aguiar Salles Airport (VIX) is connected directly to Vitoria. An airport provided taxi service travels directly to the city for a fixed price, however airport shuttles also operate a regular service and are much cheaper. Many companies have kiosks throughout the terminal which offer car rentals.
