Gerona, Spain

The Game of Thrones crew were spotted filming in the medieval town of Gerona from late August to October of last year. Scenes were shot all around, including in the grand Gerona Cathedral. The most astute fans have long speculated that this will be the setting for Braavos’ Old Town.

Peniscola, Spain

Peniscola in the province of Castellon is said to be the filming location for the city-state Meereen, but there’s much speculation it could also be Dorne. Filming locations within Peniscola include Portal Fosc, Plaza de Santa Maris, Plaza de Armas and Parque de la Artilleria.
