The city’s superior public transport system makes it easy to get around the city. Much of the immediate city centre can be explored on foot, but there is also a regular system of trams, buses and trolleybuses that run throughout the city. If you want to visit the suburbs, you can catch the S-Bahn train to reach the outskirts and other nearby cities.
Getting from the Airport to the City
Flights to Berne are served by Bern-Belp Airport (BRN) which is located just south east of the city, with a transfer time of about 25 minutes. The fastest way to reach the city is by the shuttle bus, however you can also catch the Airport bus, which runs between the airport and Bern-Belp Station every half an hour. There is also a regional bus service that connects to the city. Taxis are also available at the airport terminal.
