Before you book or search for flights, consider the following restrictions: Lithuania has restricted the entry of all travellers except for nationals and residents of Lithuania and their family members, all of whom must self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival. Lithuanian nationals and residents who are returning from work, business, or study in Poland are exempt from the requirement to self-isolate. Airline crew must be in isolation until the day of departure, but no longer than 14 days. Nationals of Poland who are travelling for work, business or studies may enter Lithuania, as may diplomats, NATO personnel and their family members, and other government-approved travellers. Starting from 15 May 2020, nationals of Estonia and Latvia will also be allowed to enter the country. All travellers must arrive at Vilnius (VNO), Kaunas (KUN), Palanga (PLQ), or Siauliai (SQQ). Only flights with permission issued by the Lithuanian Transport Safety Administration under the order of the Minister of Transport and Communications can fly to Lithuania. Transit through Lithuania is possible for travellers in groups on their way back to their country of residence, but they must be escorted to international border crossing points. Getting around Kaunas

The city has a good public bus network, paid for by contactless electronic cards. The Old Town and most of the attractions in the city centre can be reached by walking, though, so you may not need to use other transport methods at all during your stay. Taxis, and cars and bicycles for hire, are also popular methods of getting around in Kaunas.

Getting from the Airport to the City

The cheapest and easiest way to get from Kaunas airport (KUN) to the city centre is to take the city bus. The fare is cheap and buses are timed to coincide with flight arrival times. As with all public buses in the city, bus fares for this bus are made by electronic contactless card. You can buy these cards at the airport and top them up in numerous locations throughout the city. Taxis and hire cars are also on hand to take you to Kaunas city centre from the airport.
