Millions of tourists visit Turkey each year, many of them seeking flights to Marmaris on the Mediterranean coast. The city’s mix of old and new, appeals to visitors. Although it is one of Turkey’s most Westernised cities, it also boasts some traditional Turkish features such as the bath houses.
Marmaris’s beach is wide and sandy and a promenade stretches around the bay. Along the walkway visitors can escape the sun for a while in one of the many cafes, restaurants and pubs. Marmaris is also a port city and boasts Turkey’s largest yacht marina.
If it’s tradition you’re after then why not visit one of the traditional fishing villages, which are nearby? Their wooden houses are notable for their Ottoman construction.
