Planning a trip during Turkey’s summer, from July to mid-September, can be perfect if you’re after really hot weather. Keep in mind however, that temperatures often exceed 35°C during the months of July and August and it can be quite humid. Millions of tourists visit Turkey each year, many of them seeking flights to Marmaris on the Mediterranean coast. The city’s mix of old and new, appeals to visitors. Although it is one of Turkey’s most Westernised cities, it also boasts some traditional Turkish features such as the bath houses.
Marmaris’s beach is wide and sandy and a promenade stretches around the bay. Along the walkway visitors can escape the sun for a while in one of the many cafes, restaurants and pubs. Marmaris is also a port city and boasts Turkey’s largest yacht marina.

The city is also a great base for scuba diving.
Buses, mini vans and taxis are the best way to get around Marmaris, although bear in mind that the mini vans (dolmus) tend to get overcrowded by locals. Renting a car will give you the freedom of exploring the city as well as the surrounding area at your own pace.
