Airline overview

Japan Airlines, headquartered in Tokyo, is the national carrier for Japan and one of the largest airline operators in Asia. Known as JAL, the airline flies throughout Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and North and South America.

It has hubs at Narita, Tokyo, Kansai and Osaka airports. Chubu Centrair International Airport, Fukuoka Airport and New Chitose Airport are focus cities.

In 2012, JAL will start flying the 787 aircraft (it has ordered 35 from Boeing) and the in-flight entertainment system will include a distinctly Japanese touch – electronic manga.
