Passengers using London Luton Airport will now benefit from a cutting edge multilingual communication system.

Dubbed Aviavox, the facility is able to make announcements in nine different languages and is linked directly to the airport’s flight departure schedule.

It has reportedly proven particularly useful in broadcasting security messages as well as up-to-the-minute flight departure and arrival information.

Luton managing director Glyn Jones explained that the information bulletins are automatically tailored to the expected nationality of passengers in specific gates and terminals.

He commented: “London Luton Airport continually assesses the needs of its passengers and business partners and aims to provide the best possible service to them.

“The introduction of this fantastic new system for our passengers demonstrates our commitment to this.”

Last month, Ryanair confirmed that it will begin operating seven new routes from the airport to Derry, Beziers, Biarritz, Rzeszow, Szczecin, Trapani and Kaunas.
