Airline Overview

September 2009: SkyEurope has declared bankruptcy and cancelled all flights. Passengers who placed bookings via an ATOL-bonded tour operator are advised to contact their agent for a refund. People who booked direct with the airline are not automatically entitled to a refund, but may be able to obtain one from their credit card company or travel insurance provider.

Several low-cost carriers including Ryanair, easyJet and Wizz Air continue to operate services from SkyEurope's former bases in Slovakia, Austria, and Czech Republic.
