St Anton, in the Austrian Tyrol, is one of the most popular ski resorts in Europe. Host of the Alpine World Skiing Championships in 2001, St Anton offers world-class facilities and excellent skiing, combined with the best snow record of the country. This is a resort primarily for intermediate and experienced skiers, with plenty of long winding red and black runs and truly amazing off-piste. It is a sprawling resort with a very large ski area that combines St Anton, Lech and St Christoph. Skiing the length of the accessible pistes would test the stamina of even the most experienced skiers. But winter enthusiasts don’t just book flights to St Anton for the skiing.
