Corpus Christi boasts a delightful humid subtropical climate with over 250 days of sunshine per year and an average temperature of 22 degrees. Although in July and August the city does become very warm, its Gulf Coast location provides cooling ocean breezes that help it to avoid the soaring temperatures common in the Texas interior. Accommodation does become more expensive during these warmer months, especially as they coincide with the U.S schools summer holidays, but with balmy temperatures even in January, Corpus Christi can be enjoyed at any time of the year. The Buccaneer Days festival in April and May celebrates the city’s colourful early history and provides plenty of fun things to do for all the family. The Corpus Christi Festival of the Arts takes place each March and provides a wonderfully diverse range of entertainment.
