Located in south central Pennsylvania, Lancaster is a city within the heart of the Pennsylvania Dutch community. The city is ideally located with many transport links thanks to Interstates 30 and 222, and visitors can begin a new journey to one of the nearby cities, such as Philadelphia, Harrisburg, and Newark. As one of the cultural locations of the east coast, Lancaster is packed with museums, historical sites, and plenty of modern activities including shopping at the Park City Centre mall, farmer’s markets, and hiking trails. There are many family owned restaurants and local boutiques within the city centre, offering an authentic taste of Pennsylvania. Getting around Lancaster

The Red Rose Transit Authority operate a bus service across dozens of stops throughout the city and surrounding area. There are also plenty of taxi companies in the city, and there is also an intercity bus and train service for visiting the neighbouring cities and states.

Getting from the Airport to the City

Airport arrivals will land at Harrisburg International Airport (MDT), approximately 30 miles (48 km) from Lancaster, and the city can be reached via hotel shuttles, taxis, car rentals, and public transit. Public buses operate along Route 7 every day except Sunday, however taxis and car rentals are available all week. Buses and car rentals are available for a fixed price but it may be possible to haggle the taxi price before setting off for the city.
