Port Hedland International Airport (PHE) is just over 5 miles south west of town. The majority of hotels provide guests with free airport shuttle bus transfer services which are generally included in the price when making a reservation. There are also low cost public buses available outside the airport terminal that only takes around 15 minutes to get you into town. Airport car hire services can also be arranged while reliable taxi companies have vehicles on standby with fixed fees of about 23 Australian dollars for a one way journey.
