As with most southern states, Shreveport has incredibly hot and humid summers, whilst the winter is usually quite mild in comparison. The best time to travel would be from around September to November, as school term time usually falls within these months, so you can take advantage of the warm weather at a reduced price on flights. If you’re looking to travel beyond Shreveport, a car rental would be best.
Those flying into Shreveport Regional Airport (SHV) can get to the city using the taxi services located at the airport, just remember to agree your fee with the driver before departing. If you’d prefer to do your own driving, there are a few car rental companies located within the airport. There is also a regular bus service that departs from outside the airport and travels directly to Shreveport.
