Many people choose to visit Washington State between July and mid-October, as these are the driest months of the year. Much of this time period coincides with the school summer holidays as well, so there are two reasons why flights during this time of year are more expensive. However, if you keep a good look out, there are often great discounts or last minute deals on offer during these desirable months. Off peak times, such as November are generally associated with cheaper flights. Pasco is a great place to visit if you are a history lover. The city is home to Franklin County Historical Society, and the Society building is filled with wonderful documents, artefacts and other exhibits relating to Pasco’s past, covering everything from railroads to food. Head down to the Wahluke Slope, which is a scenic open stretch of land overlooking the Columbia River, if you want to enjoy a delightful hike, walk, or picnic. One of the main sights to see in Pasco is the State Park, and this place is highly recommended for all kinds of travellers to the city, from romantic couples looking for beautiful surroundings to walk in to families needing to keep their children occupied.
Pasco has a useful network of buses that you can use both to explore the city itself and to travel further afield in Washington state. The city also has an AmTrack station, and you can use this railway line to broaden your horizons even further if you want to branch out into neighbouring states as well. Taxis are plentiful in this city, and you can either hail one on the street or book one in advance. There are also special tour buses and coaches which will take you as part of a group to important sights in and around the city and give you the benefit of the knowledge of local guides as well.
The city is served by Tri-Cities airport (PSC), which is the fourth largest commercial airport in the whole state. This three runway airport is located a convenient 2 miles (3 km) from the town centre in Pasco. If you do not have very much luggage, you could even walk to your hotel in around half an hour! If you prefer to have a nice sit down after your flight, shuttle buses, taxis, and hire cars are all on hand to enable you to make the journey from the airport to your hotel in Pasco. Teaming up with other travellers who are heading the same way as you will enable you to cut down on your taxi fare.
