Low-cost airline Ryanair has opened a pop-up shop in Manchester city centre in an unusual move that is a first for the airline.

The store is open for the next four weeks and Ryanair is offering a lowest price guarantee to anyone who visits the city centre outlet.

The airline has pledged to give customers double the difference if they find flights to or from Manchester for a lower cost than Ryanair’s fares.

It’s certainly a tantalising offer, but we’re more excited about talking to an actual member of Ryanair staff when booking a flight – it’s not something that happens very often!

Not only will visitors to the store have the chance to browse fares online, book tickets and talk to those elusive staff, they’ll also have the chance to win flights every day.

“We’ll be giving away a return flight for two, every day, to amazing European destinations, including Budapest, Dublin, Faro, Oslo and Riga,” said Ryanair’s Michael Cawley.

“Ryanair has long pioneered customer innovations and through our latest promotion, we will bring our ultra-low fare seats right to the heart of Manchester, with the opening of our first pop-up shop, giving high street customers the chance to see our lowest fares for themselves.”

To celebrate this somewhat unusual move, Ryanair has announced a seat sale on flights across its network of routes.

Thousands of seats are on offer from just £12 one-way, for travel between Monday and Thursday throughout October and November.

To take advantage of the low-fare offer, book before midnight on Thursday, September 27 at Ryanair.com. Or if you’re in Manchester, you can always pop along to the pop-up shop.

Ryanair opened its base at Manchester Airport in November last year and now flies to 30 destinations across Europe from the base.

The airline has said that it has handled 1.7 million passengers since last year, as well as sustaining more than 1,700 on-site jobs.
