The airline also confirmed that Geneva, popular with skiing enthusiasts, will also be featured prominently in its winter 2013 schedule.
“Our customers are absolutely at the heart of what we do so we ensure we fly to the destinations our customers tell us they most want to visit,” said Paul Simmons, easyJet’s UK Director.
“Together with the opening up of new routes, our winter 2013 schedule is packed with firm favourites that I’m sure will be a huge hit with travellers. Plus as ever, those who book early will reap the greatest cost savings.”
The increased schedule means that holidaymakers can now choose from more than 11 million seats on over 300 routes.
The airline has also recently announced that it is launching its first route to Norway, with flights from London Gatwick to Bergen operating from 20th May 2013.
The new route to the ‘Gateway to the Fjords’ will be the 33rd operated by the airline and is expected to cater to 100,000 passengers between the two airports on an annual basis.
Fares on the new route start from as little as £35.49 one way including taxes, and are based on two people flying on the same booking.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be announcing the launch of flights to Norway today. This is the first time easyJet has offered flights to Norway and Bergen is a fantastic city – often referred to as the Gateway to the Fjords – and I’m sure it will be a popular route with our passengers,” said Mr Simmons.
“The addition of Bergen will see easyJet flying more than half a million passengers between the UK and Scandinavia, and will take the total number of routes served from Gatwick to 101 across 27 countries.”
