The major tourist season in Rome is from June to August, the temperatures are the hottest and the chance of rain is at a minimum. Which airlines operate flights to Rome?

The most popular airlines to purchase your flight tickets from are Ryanair, British Airways, Norwegian and Alitalia. Make sure to compare the prices of them all, although Ryanair normally just edges it in regards of the cheapest flights to Rome, however Norwegian do offer WiFi onboard the aircraft so if you need to work or be online they can be a good option too.

How to get from the airport to the city centre?

The airport is located about 26km southwest of the centre of Rome, meaning you can't take a stroll to the centre. A popular option to travel there is the Leonardo Express. It's the direct train that goes between the airport and the city centre every 30 minutes. You can catch the train from Termini, at track 24. You'll need to buy a ticket and get it validated before you travel, and tickets are more expensive from the departure station than from the Termini news stand. Another option is to take one of Rome's white taxis, they are on a fixed price which €40. The other option is to get a bus, either a regular local transport one (you can buy your tickets from any tobacco shop - Tabaccheria) which picks you up outside terminals B & C, or to jump on the Terravision shuttle bus. This is more expensive but has a direct route to the centre of Rome.
